I have been playing with Solid Angle's Arnold renderer and I can honestly say it is the best experience I have had with CG rendering. It is simple in it's settings approach in that it grounds you to a sample count in only 4 areas, AA, Glossy, Refraction and Diffuse. In short it means there is a LOT LESS time spent wasting time trying to find the magical render time saver leaving you with tons of time to spend just making a beautiful image. The image below has about 5 hours of work put into it and took 10 minutes to render out a few color passes and an AO.

Random Works
A few months ago I completed a few elements for my demo reel and one of them was a Candle with smoke coming from behind and flowing across the ground. I have since then made the smoke a lot better and you can see it below.
I have also started playing around with realflow and below you can see some of the stuff I am made with it.
Here is some destruction stuff I've made with Maya 2012 and DMM.

Super Meat Boy
I'm currently working on a personal project that I hope will open up a new avenue in my career adventure. This is not the first part of my project but rather the only part I I'd like to share at this time. There are several elements from all over being put together to make something that I think will be fun and enjoyable. Anyways a render is posted below for you viewing pleasure.
He is the main character from the indie hit Super Meat Boy. He has about 2.5 hours of work on him at this point from a box primitive to the lit render you see above. Hand is a bit crude I know buttt I got a little excited to jump on this aspect of the project after seeing the "Indie Game: The Movie" at a friend's house.
I am very excited about this current project and it'll be the biggest thing I'll have started/hopefully completed in my personal career to date.

A whole new portfolio!
Hey guys. I have been quite busy over the past 3 months and I'd like to finally share with you what I have created but first a story... As you may already know I have been working in Louisiana at a small company and my girlfriend in Dallas and we had been doing a long distance relationship that was starting to rapidly fall apart as we entered the 2nd year... Something needed to be done if we were going to keep it going and so we worked on moving towards each other and a few events fell into place or really apart at the time that made it actually happen. So in January of 2012 I moved out to Dallas to be with her. I can honestly say it has been one of the most rewarding and happiest moments in my life being with her and waking up in her arms every morning. There are things that I wish had happened differently or not at all but shit happens to the best and worst of us. Anyways enough of the mushy crap! I went hard to work on my demo reel and I think I have come a long way. Below is a collection of the works that I have completed in the last 2 months!
This is a WIP piece of an ArchViz scene.
I wanted to do a piece with a character so this is what I came up with. Character modeled by Elise Hatheway. http://elisehatheway.blogspot.com/
I wanted to do something with water cause it's kind of the first thing I created years ago when I first started playing with CG.
This is my latest project it's only about a week old but I wanted to do something with fluids cause they're super fun. I also wanted to do something with SSS cause it's also super fun!
